Are you finding it difficult to co-parent in this difficult time?
CAFCASS has launched a new Co-Parent Hub (CPH) to assist separated parents. CAFCASS have worked collaboratively with the Ministry of Justice and relationship charity OnePlusOne in creating the Hub.
CAFCASS stands for Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service. CAFCASS represents children in family court cases in England, providing independent advice to family courts concerning children's best interests. Its overarching duty is to safeguard and promote the welfare of children going through the family justice system in three main areas:
The Hub is a free online resource for separated parents. There does not need to be ongoing court proceedings and in fact the Hub has been created to help avoid the necessity of court proceedings. The Hub has been created to assist parents especially during Covid-19 where access to traditional face-to-face support is limited.
The Hub asks parents to create an account where they will be able to access a parenting plan and the Getting it Right for Children programme online, as well as other helpful resources. Separated parents can start preparing their own Parenting Plan together, in the hope that agreement can be made amicably and for the best interests of the child(ren), without the need for court applications.
This resource has been well-received by parents during its two pilots, with 100% of users asked saying that they would recommend it to a friend.
You can find more information about the Hub online and/or create an account using the following link: https://cafcass.clickrelationships.org/. For more information on relationship charity OnePlusOne, go to: https://www.oneplusone.org.uk/.
